Don’t think you can’t secure a table at Tableau just because it’s tucked away in the Tower Suites at Wynn. This spacious, colorful dining room offers American cuisine for breakfast, lunch and dinner along with prime views of the Tower Suites pool. You won’t find any frou frou nouveau fare here—deep down the menu is meat and potatoes, albeit more elegantly presented. Look for one of the finest roast chickens, as well as an excellent rendition of surf and turf, featuring a New York strip steak and your choice of lobster, prawns or scallops as your “surf.” Service is personable and outgoing, but not obsequious. Tableau certainly offers fine dining, but it’s not hard to feel comfortable here. The concept of the restaurant is slated to shift in April 2009, so check the Web site before you plan your visit.Also offered is the Chef’s Tasting Menu (available in a Vegetarian version) which changes often.
