Part nightclub, part Asian restaurant, Tao packs crowds in nightly with its alluringly sexy Buddha-filled décor, a koi pond and weathered wood, a harmonious combination of ancient culture and contemporary life. You’ll find a pan-Asian menu with elements of Chinese, Japanese and Thai cuisine figuring prominently. Sushi is a good choice, and the menu is heavy on trendy maki creations. Entrées are boldly flavored, but still familiar, including the wasabi-crusted filet mignon. If you want to linger after your meal (most people do), head upstairs to the nightclub (see page 150)—it’s one of the hottest Vegas spots for bass thumping music, hard bodies and celebrity sightings.
