Shanghai native Anthony Zhao is a professional chef, food stylist and restaurant and television consultant. After graduating from culinary school in Shanghai, he cooked for seven years at Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star The Portman Ritz-Carlton, Shanghai. Zhao is the China co-host of adventure eating television series Food Hunters and has been featured on Gourmet magazine’s Diary of a Foodie. In addition to his China-based work, Zhao has done a stagiaire at Forbes Travel Guide Tastemaker Alice Waters’ Berkeley restaurant Chez Panisse. Zhao lives in Shanghai with his wife, Crystal Mo, an American food writer, and their young daughter. When he’s not sharing foodie adventures on television, he’s running his Shanghainese restaurant, Mi Xiang Yuan.
