What does Fernando Beteta suggest for those new to wine?

First you should ask a lot of questions. Don’t be afraid; most people are intimidated so they don’t learn, and it’s okay to ask even what you think is a stupid question.

Always try something new. It’s always fun to step out of your comfort zone and go to something you’ve never heard of.

Trust your own palate. Make sure that you’re enjoying what you’re tasting. You don’t have to go to wines that you don’t understand or wrap your head around just because somebody recommended them. And start with the basics: A few classic regions from the new world, a few classic regions from the Old World and slowly branch out from there.
