Does Larry Stone have any advice for aspiring sommeliers?
It’s really a matter of passion. You have to love it or leave it. The hours are long and if you’re doing this to make money, forget it. It’s not a money making endeavor. You might as well say you want to be a famous movie star. There are a lot of people in this profession who do phenomenal jobs everyday but don’t necessarily get compensated the way they should. But they can’t help but do the job because they love it. And it is a fantastic profession, but you’ve got to have a passion.
