What are Miranda Whitcomb Pontes’ favorite shops to visit while traveling?
I look at places and I always wonder if it would be a good fit for Nashville. I love Eataly [in New York]. I love to buy cheese — lots of it — charcuterie, pasta, a souvenir, perhaps something like a kitchen towel, an apron or a shopping bag. Every time I’ve been to New York, I’ve been [to Eataly]. It’s overwhelming, but the more I think about it, the more I wish we could have something like that here in Nashville.
But when I’m in Nashville, I love to go to Lazzarolli Pasta and H. Audrey — I love her taste. I’ve been going to Peter Nappi in Nashville a lot recently, too. I’ve purchased quite a bit of furniture from him, a lot of which will go in [my restaurant] Josephine. On a whim, I bought a vintage wood sign that says, “Meat Market.” It’s just about 10 feet long. I picture it solo on the long hallway in Josephine. And of course, I have some boots from Peter Nappi, too.
