What are Miranda Whitcomb Pontes’ favorite things to bring home from her travels?
I do take a lot of menus with permission. Just recently, I’ve collected menus from Bavette’s [Bar & Boeuf] in Chicago, Danny Meyer’s Maialino in New York City, a signed menu from Bouchon Beverly Hills, and, accidentally, a menu from City House [in Nashville] — I found it in my purse the next day, much to my surprise.
I also love to go by magazine stands and pick up obscure magazines, too. I’ll get Vogue Living — in any language, it doesn’t matter. I’ve had one from Czech Republic, Spain and Italy. Any large food magazines are great, too.
