BELLAGIO
Restaurants
There are only 96 master sommeliers in the country; three of them call Bellagio home. Toss in four James Beard award-winning chefs and 12 onsite restaurants and you've got yourself a guaranteed good meal. Whether it's regal fine dining you're after or a quick bite by the pool, Bellagio's restaurants won't disappoint. Here are a few of our favorite picks:
LE CIRQUE
Indulge in the contemporary French cuisine of this Mobil three-star dining spot. Brilliantly patterned upholstery, circus-inspired wall murals, and vibrantly hued fabrics draped from the ceiling provide a playful ambience. But don't be fooled: the bold meat dishes and coveted wines at Le Cirque mean serious business.
CIRCO
Savor upscale Tuscan fare at Circo, with a menu offering hearty pasta and meat entrees, as well as 900 imported wine selections. The interior invokes carnival-like gleefulness with contemporary wood furnishings, bright stripped curtains and embellished gold and maroon lighting. A perfect spot for a festive occasion.
PRIME STEAKHOUSE
Taste the finest steaks, seafood and lamb creations at acclaimed chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten's steakhouse (it's a Mobil three-star). The restaurant's décor of deep brown and Tiffany-inspired blue creates an intimate, elegant setting, a nice change from the constant dinging of slot-machine Vegas.
PICASSO
Art aficionados beware: it may be difficult to concentrate on your food with so many of Picasso's masterpieces hanging on the walls. Nevertheless, the cuisine is worth paying attention to (Mobil gives it four-stars). Dine amongst the brilliant works of artist Pablo Picasso while feasting on regional fare of France and Spain in a countryside setting with a coved ceiling. The menu focuses on regional fare from France and Spain and seasonal favorites include creamy soups and rich entrees like sautéed steak of foie gras and pan-seared sea scallops.
NOODLES
Authentic noodle dishes from Japan, Thailand, China and Vietnam are served in an exquisitely modern, yet cozy, dining room by executive chef Patrick Lee. Dim sum is also on hand, and makes a great afternoon snack in between hands of Texas Hold ‘Em.
JASMINE
If you crave contemporary Hong Kong cuisine and warm, floral décor, a night at the Mobil three-star Jasmine is required. Classic Cantonese Seafood and traditional entrées such as sweet and sour pork will make your mouth water. Snagging a table by the window guarantees an unobstructed view of the Bellagio Fountain show.
OLIVES
Relax in this dimly lit Mediterranean-style restaurant (Mobil two-star) that boasts a backdrop of Lake Bellagio. Brick oven pizzas, rotisseries dishes and house-made pastas are served along with wines recommended by a knowledgeable sommelier. This is a nice contemporary option that's big on taste and small on pretension.
