From multiple iterations of the larger-than-life modern circus that is Cirque du Soleil, to comedy any way you like it, to classic Vegas entertainment featuring magicians, showgirls, A-list superstars and big-time boxers, the shows of Las Vegas have only gotten bigger and more diverse over the years.

But of all the shows in Vegas, Cirque du Soleil is perhaps the most popular, drawing an estimated 9,000 people a night. That's no surprise, for these colorful productions range from the dancing, singing, and acrobatics of Mystere at Treasure Island to the aquatic opera of O at the Bellagio to the adults-only erotic of Zumanity and the Beatles homage LOVE at the Mirage to the newest addition to the family: at the MGM Grand. Indeed, dear Vegas visitor, there's a Cirque for everyone.

Comedy has always been a staple of the Vegas entertainment scene—and today the funny can be found all over town. While stand-up veterans like Penn & Teller hold court at the Rio, theatrical comedy shows like Menopause the Musical, Defending the Caveman, and even Gregory Popovich's Pet Theater all show no sign of letting up on the laughter.

For those who thought the showgirl went the way of old Vegas, there's now Jubilee! at Bally's, where scores of statuesque dancers (some of which are topless) perform elaborate production numbers in sequined outfits that look like they've been pilfered from Cher's closet. Speaking of Cher, she recently started playing the world famous Caesars Palace, following in the sequined footsteps of fellow A-list headliners like Celine Dion and Elton John. Another quintessential Vegas experience, Big Time boxing bout, is also alive and well, with venues like Mandalay Bay and MGM hosting matches featuring legendary champs like Oscar de la Hoya and Floyd Mayweather Jr. Now that's entertainment.
