Paris Eiffel Tower
The Paris Las Vegas hotel is a good compromise between jet-setting to Paris, France, and Greyhound-ing it to Paris, Texas—you get a city of lights and the Eiffel Tower Experience. The Paris Eiffel Tower has been a fixture of the Las Vegas skyline since it opened on September 1, 1999; it was meant to be an exact cookie cutter copy of the real thing. But since Las Vegas' airport was too close (meaning the structure might be mistaken for a control tower, among other things), this replica is more of a knock-off, clocking in at 460 feet, around half to five-eighths the size of the Parisian attraction, and minus, you know, all of that history and stuff.
On the Strip, the replica fits right into the brightly lit (some would say gaudy) buildings. But don't write it off—it's more than just a Kodak moment. It actually is an experience, after all. Las Vegas gets a bad rap in the romance department, but you can enjoy a little tryst on the mini-me Eiffel. Hop on the elevator at the foot of the Tower and take it up to check out the view (and maybe steal a kiss or two) 50 stories above the ground. On your way up, you'll ride with a well-versed tour guide who will point out all the favorite Las Vegas attractions from above.
For a full-on evening of Parisian-style romance, show up before sunset and ride all the way to the top. You might think that nighttime is the right time for a perfect view of the twinkling city lights, but if you go while the sun is still up, you'll be able to see the mountains around Las Vegas. After your trip to the top, stop at the Eiffel Tower Restaurant on the 11th floor (you did make reservations, didn't you?), where Chef J. Joho serves a classic French menu and a stunning gaze over the city. The top of the tower will still be there after your delicious dinner, so finish off your date night up in the stars, seeing the city alive at night.
