Set on the corner of a tucked-away street in the North End,
this perpetually crowded, 39-seat spot is as authentic as
it gets—white tablecloths, modern Italian fare and a long
waiting list on busy nights. The menu’s high notes involve
updated classics enhanced with regional ingredients, such
as creamy risotto peppered with chunks of Maine lobster or
open-faced, seafood-filled ravioli. The cramped seating and
gradually rising noise levels shouldn’t thwart you; instead,
prepare for jostling, lean in close and dive into three or four
courses of well-prepared plates. Just don’t plan on sticking
around for dessert—they don’t serve it.
