Wildflowers at Turning Stone

Upstate elegance with seasonal flair
VERIFIED LUXURY
Culinary art meets casino nightlife at Wildflowers at Turning Stone, the intimate 65-seat restaurant located just off the lobby of The Lodge at Turning Stone Resort Casino. By day, the establishment buzzes with families and friends getting in a hearty breakfast before hitting the links or taking tennis lessons. By night, the space turns into a romantic hideaway tucked off the first floor.

The eatery sources locally grown and sustainable foods from nearby farms and changes its menu seasonally to accompany what’s fresh and in-season. Don’t miss the Wildflower salad, Dover sole or Bananas Foster (prepared tableside) while you’re here.

Additionally, make sure to allow extra time for the overall experience — Wildflowers takes its time with service, ensuring you have a pleasantly paced meal that lets you truly savor each bite on your plate.

Our Inspector's Highlights
  • Wildflowers at Turning Stone is a small, intimate 65-seat restaurant that focuses on flavors and seasonal ingredients.
  • In the evenings, the restaurant is dark and dimly lit, providing a romantic ambience and a quiet place to enjoy your evening.
  • From the moment you sit down in the pink, purple and red chairs at the tables, you’ll find yourself entranced by the restaurant’s subtle floral décor and spring-like feel, regardless of the season.
  • The Great Room between the bar and the restaurant features plush chairs, sofas and lounges, a working fireplace and views of the courtyard.
Things to Know
  • Open for breakfast and dinner only, Wildflowers highly recommends reservations for dinner service — especially during peak travel times.
  • Dine here for breakfast, lunch and dinner six days a week. Just keep in mind that the restaurant only serves breakfast on Sundays.
  • The dress code for the property’s signature eatery is business casual. Skirts, pants and even nice jeans are acceptable for dining here.
  • It’s worth noting, though, that one of the admirable aspects of dining here is the slow-paced dinner service. It’s in the realm of possibilities that you will spend a couple hours taking in the full culinary experience, so it might not be a suitable environment for children.
The Food
  • Favorite starters include the light heirloom beet salad (served over celery root puree with a side of arugula dressed in blood orange vinaigrette) and a modern play on shrimp cocktail. The jumbo prawns are plated over seaweed salad with dollops of horseradish in a nod to the classic dish.
  • While the menu changes seasonally, Dover sole meunière is a regular staple. The hearty fish is tender and buttery with a light twist of lemon that will delight your palate.
  • Other rotating fish selections (locally caught, of course) can be prepared in one of four mouthwatering styles: Mediterranean with grilled artichokes and sun dried tomato vinaigrette, blackened with a side of Israeli couscous, paella with grilled shrimp and black rice, or classic meunière.
  • Save room for dessert. The liquid nitrogen ice cream is a delight for all the senses, prepared tableside in flavors like sorghum (this one's for caramel lovers) or vanilla bean and served over a sorghum cake with apple butter, kumquat gel and corn streusel.
The Bar
  • Situated across The Great Room from Wildflowers, the bar is an intimate space with floor-to-ceiling windows and a patio overlooking the verdant events lawn.
  • A menu of signature cocktails offer twists on the classics. Try a fragrant lavender martini (gin, Chambord, honey, lemon and lavender) or a white cosmo (cranberry vodka, Cointreau, white cranberry juice and a twist of lime).
  • Just like the cuisine at Wildflowers, the bar serves up a rotating selection of seasonal sips. A recent summer menu featured a cucumber mojito, a vodka-based hibiscus lemonade, and a citrusy Aperol Fizz.
  • While there are plenty of old-world staples on the wine list, New York labels have a strong presence, too. Try locally made sips like a dry reisling from White Birch in Skaneateles or a merlot from Lamoreaux Landing in the Finger Lakes.
