Blantyre offers a cozy countryside retreat, and that’s partly due to the wood-burning fireplaces in many of the rooms. In the Main House, five of the eight rooms have a fireplace. Our favorite is the pink-tiled fireplace that complements the colors of the sisters’ dresses in a painting that sit above the mantel in the Laurel Room. All of the cottages have fireplaces except the Old Bath House, which features a wood-burning stove. There are no fireplaces in the rooms at the Carriage House.
If you’re staying at Blantyre during the winter, book a room with a fireplace. It’s one of our favorite times to visit the luxury Boston hotel, thanks to its tranquil and remote country setting. When the snow falls, Blantyre turns into a winter wonderland, complete with lit-up trees and a decorated lawn. You’ll love curling up by the fire with a mug of hot cocoa or great bottle of wine from the cellar.
Five of the rooms and suites in the Main House and all of the cottages at Blantyre feature wood-burning fireplaces, a highly coveted treat in the fall and winter months.
