Blantyre welcomes kids ages 12 and up, so the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel doesn’t offer the usual baby amenities, like cribs or childproofed rooms. It also doesn’t have rollaway beds, so if you’re planning a family retreat, you should book a cottage or the two-bedroom Maplehurst room in the Carriage House. The Massachusetts hotel’s staff assumes your child is mature enough to manage on her own, so there are no babysitting services on the premises. G-rated DVDs like Mary Poppins, Bedknobs and Broomsticks, and Beauty and the Beast are available at the luxury hotel’s free lending library if your child wants to hang out and watch a movie in the room, or she can take advantage of one of the many activities Blantyre has to offer, including tennis, bocce ball, croquet and swimming.
Blantyre has an extensive collection of DVDs, books, a stereo, iPod docks, board games, puzzles, cribs, baby monitors, gates, children’s furniture and cribs to make traveling with young ones a breeze.
