Blantyre only has one spot for dinner, a formal dining room that probably isn’t the best choice for families. You can try dining at the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel with your kids, but they’ll have to trade in their favorite jeans, T-shirts and flip-flops for some fine attire during the elegant dinner service. If that sounds a little too buttoned-up for your family, take a 10-minute drive to the town of Lenox. There you’ll find a few casual pubs and country-inn restaurants that welcome kids. Another option is the luxury hotel’s room service: Kids don’t get their own dedicated menu, but they can chow down on palate-pleasing dishes like pasta, burgers and sandwiches. Breakfast and lunch are less of an issue at Blantyre; you and your kiddies can eat in the less-formal breakfront room or on the terrace without worrying that the younger ones aren’t properly minding their manners.
Family dinners at Blantyre are best when the whole property is reserved.
