Blantyre is located on 117 acres and is practically its own park, but it also has plenty of parks and mountains nearby, such as Kennedy Park, October Mountain, Mount Greylock, Laurel Hill and Monument Mountain. All have been hiking favorites since the early days of the 1700s. We also have a doggy-hiking packet, showing the dog-friendly trails in the area.
The Berkshires, where Blantyre is located, is a massive New England park space. The 220 acres at the Forbes Travel Guide Five-Star hotel are perfect for walking around and hiking through the woods. Ask the concierge for maps advice on routes. In the winter, traverse the terrain in snowshoes, which the luxury hotel gives out for free to guests. Or hit the slopes in the dozens of ski resorts and trails in the area. For more green space, visit the Berkshire Botanical Garden, which is about a 20-minute drive from Blantyre in Stockbridge. It’s one of the nation’s oldest botanical gardens and offers you the chance to frolic among more than 3,000 local plant species and varieties.
