Blantyre — and its adjoining The Potting Shed Spa at Blantyre — is an attraction in itself. The historical home and estate, built in 1901, oozes with history and culture. If you want to leave the property, you can drive over to Tanglewood, the summer home to the Boston Symphony Orchestra. During July and August, Tanglewood hosts outdoor concerts, and guests make a night of it with picnics, wine and Champagne under the stars. Also nearby are Edith Wharton's home, the Mount, and Herman Melville’s home, Arrowhead. Literature enthusiasts will appreciate visiting Arrowhead, where Moby Dick was written. History and art buffs should check out the Norman Rockwell Museum, a 20-minute drive from Blantyre, where you'll find the world's largest collection of the artist’s original depictions of Americana.
