The Alluvian Hotel is located on Howard Street in downtown Greenwood, Mississippi. It is centrally located to a number of historic sites on the Mississippi Blues Trail. The hotel is also directly across the street from the Viking Cooking School, a 7,000-square-foot facility owned by professional kitchen appliances manufacturer Viking Range Corporation. Classes are open to the public and provide a unique experience for visitors who enjoy cooking or just indulging in delicious food. The boutique hotel collaborates with the school for culinary weekends with notable Southern chefs, such as Top Chef alum Edward Lee of 610 Magnolia restaurant in Louisville.
Traveling to The Alluvian is fairly easy. The hotel is situated roughly two hours from two major airports — the Jackson-Medgar Wiley Evers International Airport in Jackson, Mississippi, and the Memphis International Airport in Tennessee. From there, hop onto I-55 to Winona and then it’s just a 30-minute drive west on Highway 82.
