The best way to see Toledo in one day is to start with breakfast at Uncle John’s Pancake House. A favorite among locals and college students, the restaurant features large portions, unique pancake fillings and a friendly staff that will give you a warm welcome to the city. After breakfast, go just a mile south to visit The University of Toledo. Spend some time strolling through the main campus, and then head downtown to the Erie Street Market for lunch and shopping.
Don’t fill up too much on lunch — you’ll want to head over to Tony Packo’s next for its famous Hungarian hot dogs. Spend the afternoon at The Toledo Museum of Art. Walk through the galleries solo or join a tour. While you’re there, be sure to head across the street to the Glass Pavilion to watch a glass blowing demonstration. If there is time before dinner, drive through the Old West End to see Toledo’s historic mansions. Next, cross the river for waterfront dining at the Docks at International Park. End the day by taking in a performance at one of Toledo’s many theaters or trying your luck at the Hollywood Casino.
