This building used to house a grand old bank, and the revived space is worth a stop, even if you’re not a guest here. The lobby has beautiful plasterwork and distinguished pillars, and the private dining room used to be the bank’s vault. The public dining room was the actual bank space and the hotel’s impossibly thick doors, we assume, kept out robbers.
