Travel Guide seeks a Copy Editor to join its growing Atlanta-based editorial team
in our Atlanta headquarters. Remote applicants will not be considered.
The
Copy Editor position available is an entry-level position in the Evaluation
Reporting department. Copy Editors at Forbes Travel Guide are responsible for editing
client‐facing evaluation reports for hotels, restaurants and spas. The person
in this position will be responsible for editing reports on deadline, ensuring
accuracy for each evaluation report produced by our remote team of incognito
field evaluators. This position requires a critical thinker with keen editing
skills.

Responsibilities
- Manage the compilation,
production and delivery of assigned client‐ready hotel, restaurant and spa
reports in a timely manner
- Review photos and standards
scores for accuracy; ensure grammatical clarity in reports
- Record and maintain thorough
feedback on the field evaluator team to increase quality and efficiency of the
end product
- Participate in ongoing editorial
and evaluation workshops and training as required
- Work with the department in
administrative capacity as needed

Field Evaluator (Japan)
Forbes Travel Guide
seeks a Japanese (native/based) incognito hospitality field evaluator to work
on its annual star ratings and Hospitality Solutions client evaluations. Since
1958, Forbes Travel Guide's professional team of evaluators has visited and
rated hotels (and later restaurants and spas) across the globe, providing
travelers with the best information on where to stay, dine, spa and sightsee.
The field evaluator
will be responsible for gathering all information required to conduct and
complete an anonymous evaluation of assigned hotels, restaurants and/or spas as
well as collecting information for ForbesTravelGuide.com. The field evaluator
must remain incognito and maintain a professional and appropriate demeanor on
behalf of FTG.

Responsibilities
- Evaluate
properties by objectively answering pre-determined standards and submitting
report to home office
- Manage
travel itinerary based on assignment; complete evaluations in cost-effective
manner, following departmental policies and procedures
- In
conjunction with each unannounced evaluation report, submit photographs and
information to be used by ForbesTravelGuide.com
- Maintain
meticulous notes regarding property and logistics to assist evaluation planning
department in future execution
- Communicate
effectively with colleagues and home office to ensure timely and accurate
reporting
- Execute
a minimum of five trips/audits (each audit could contain any combination of
hotel, restaurant and spa evaluations) per month — depending on back-to-back
and other assigned work. The typical expectation of travel is a minimum of 15
days per month. International/domestic travel may be required
weekends/weekdays.
- Respond
to home office questions in a timely manner; communicate quickly during
editorial workflow following submission of report
- Availability
and/or flexibility to travel as requested by FTG on a monthly basis
- Attend
meetings, typically teleconferenced, as required
- Manage
personal travel logistics in a budget-conscious manner, following departmental
policies and procedures

Candidates must be based in the Asia-Pacific region and be native Mandarin and/or Cantonese speakers.
