While Las Vegas Hilton at Resorts World debuted in 2021, its history in the city stretches back to 1970. Back then the Hilton helped mold Vegas into what it is today — it was the first hotel to establish residencies with legendary stars, most notably Elvis and Liberace. In fact, the King rocked more than 600 sold-out shows there from 1969 to 1976.
This rhinestone-studded past plays a role in the latest incarnation of the casino hotel, which sits in a new location in Resorts World (also home to Conrad Las Vegas and Crockfords Las Vegas, LXR Hotels & Resorts) on the north end of the Strip. Behind the lobby’s front desk, a large photo of young Elvis bears one of his quotes, “Man…I really like Vegas. I’m going back there the first chance I get.” And superstars like Katy Perry, Carrie Underwood and Michael Bublé continue to take up residency at the hotel, but this time they sing to crowds in The Theatre at Resorts World Las Vegas, which boasts the city’s largest and tallest stage.
- Whimsical art punctuates Resorts World. In the Hilton’s lobby, check out “Clouds and Jars,” a video hologram by Michelangelo Bastiani with trapeze artists and ballerinas in 12 jars, and Gillie and Marc’s Hippo “Wild Ride,” a bronze sculpture of a rabbit woman and dog man kissing on top of a hippo. Take a self-guided art tour by scanning the QR codes next to the pieces to get the story behind each work.
- Resorts World is a culinary destination with 40 restaurants. If you want fine dining, elegant Genting Palace serves delectable Chinese cuisine next to the Hilton lobby (don’t miss Genting’s stylish bar). For more casual fare, pop over to Famous Foods Street Eats, an impressive collection of 16 stalls that include everything from popular hawker stands from Southeast Asia to an eatery from celebrity chef Marcus Samuelsson.
- The 117,000-square-foot casino includes a 17,000-square-foot Entertainment Zone, which includes a race and sports book, live entertainment and high-limit gaming areas.Find respite from the casino floor at Awana Spa. It specializes in communal experiences with the Foot Spa Lounge, unique interactive sauna performances and the Fountain of Youth, a wet area with six vitality pools, a crystal laconium, steam rooms, mist showers and a rain walk.
- You will find plenty to keep you entertained, including the 5,000-capacity theater with rotating headliners, the seven-pool complex — the largest on the Strip — and DJ residencies at Zouk Nightclub and Ayu Dayclub.
- At Kusa Nori, the menu is full of tempting Japanese fare like yakitori, teppanyaki, sashimi, nigiri and sushi rolls. Be sure to peruse the extensive sake selection.
- Head up to the dark and alluring Alle Lounge on 66 to sip on cocktails like Twilight (Bombay Sapphire, crème de violette, Chambord, lemon, egg white and simple syrup) and glimpse city views from the 66th-story walls of windows.
- An outpost of the beloved California hot spot, Wally’s is a place for lingering over top-notch charcuterie boards, wine and dishes like the Hundred Dollar chicken (accompanied by smashed fingerling potatoes, broccoli, truffle chicken jus and shaved truffles).
- Local chef Nicole Brisson plies you with handmade pastas, sustainable seafood and Creekstone Farms beef at her contemporary Italian spot Brezza. Peruse the menu of negronis and enjoy one out on the patio.
