Saybrook Point Inn, Marina & Spa

A charm-filled historic inn in Connecticut
The picturesque Saybrook Point Inn, Marina & Spa is a charming place located in the historic Connecticut shoreline town of Old Saybrook. The property has four buildings that house a collection of elegantly designed guest rooms. You can book a room at the main inn or at the two adjacent freestanding Victorian Italianate-styled guesthouses.

A unique and private dockside room, the Lighthouse Suite, offers spectacular unobstructed views of Long Island Sound. Onsite, there’s also Sanno, a full-service spa; a health club; indoor and outdoor pools; and Fresh Salt, a locally inspired restaurant with a gorgeous outdoor terrace.
Our Inspector's Highlights
  • You have the option of two pools: an indoor pool with a shower and hot tub and an outdoor heated saltwater pool that is open year-round.
  • Fresh Salt, the onsite restaurant, is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and focuses on upscale New England eats that are seasonal and local — think lobster rolls, clam chowder, pan-seared cod and bananas foster bread pudding.
  • Enjoy a little rest and relaxation at the 11-room Sanno Spa offering a full menu of services and a well-stocked boutique.
  • The Inn is located in Old Saybrook, a quaint coastal town with plenty of community events and historical 18th- and 19th-century architecture, the perfect place to unplug and unwind.
  • Accommodations in the Tall Tales and Three Stories guesthouses are uniquely named and themed after a remarkable individual or prominent figure in early American history.
Things to Know
  • A fitness center that offers daily classes is available on the lower floor of the main building.
  • You won’t want to miss Fresh Salt’s stellar Sunday brunch buffet. The spread includes all your favorite staples, along with a selection of incredibly fresh seafood.
  • You might notice the Yale memorabilia throughout the property. The Collegiate School of Connecticut, which later moved to New Haven and became Yale University, was first chartered in Old Saybrook in 1701.
The Rooms
  • The rooms at the main inn, originally built in 1892, are relatively spacious and exude classic charm. All feature a king or queen bed with European bedding and fine, hand-woven linens.
  • Bathrooms have either a luxurious walk-in shower with seating or a hydrotherapy tub with jets that soothe tired muscles.
  • A cozy fireplace, iHome radio, flat-screen television, safe, desk, fridge, complimentary Wi-Fi and two luxurious bathrobes are available in each guest room.
  • In addition to the rooms at the Inn, the property also offers accommodations in two guesthouses, Tall Tales and Three Stories.
  • The common areas in the guesthouses include game rooms, living rooms and dining rooms, plus the individually designed guest rooms that have classic charm and modern amenities all at once.
The Restaurants
  • Cute antique and gift shops line Main Street and a number of historic lighthouses can be seen in the distance from the property.
  • The Katherine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center, which is a short drive from the Connecticut hotel, features a 250-seat theater and offers a full repertoire of cultural and performing arts throughout the year.
  • The Saybrook Point Marina, also located at the inn, affords access to the Long Island Sound and can accommodate vessels from 13 to 200 feet.
