The Spa at the Omni Tucson National

The Spa at the Omni Tucson National has a picturesque location in the foothills of the Santa Catalina Mountains. Whether you have half an hour or an entire day, this spa has something to offer. In 25 minutes, the tension reliever massage works its magic where you are most tense, while the business facial cleanses, tones, exfoliates and hydrates in just under 30 minutes. Other facials include aromatherapy, deep-cleansing, antiaging and deluxe hydration. Body masks smooth rough skin with a variety of ingredients, including seaweed, desert rose clay, rich mud from the Dead Sea, shea butter and aspara, a plant that grows by the beach and is recognized for its calming properties.
Our Inspector's Highlights
  • The spa uses its Arizona locale, next to the towering Santa Catalina Mountains, to its advantage and offers some unique desert-related massages.
  • When you want a spa day with a companion, try a couples treatment. The romantic spa offers a duet massage held in specially designed treatment rooms.
  • To make it a full day of pampering, order lunch pre- or post-treatment the Tucson spa.
  • If you are there with a friend, bonding can be had in the sauna, steam room and Jacuzzi found in both the men and women’s locker rooms.
  • In case you want to take your treatment elsewhere, massages can be arranged in your room or poolside at Streetwater Terrace, where you can get some more of that desert sun.
Things to Know
  • The best way to get an appointment at the desert spa, is to call it directly.
  • To ensure you get a convenient time slot, call the spa at least a week in advance. If you're looking for some relaxation on a weekend or a holiday, reserve your spa treatment more than a week ahead of time; the spa sees more guests during those periods.
  • If you have to cancel your appointment, be sure to call at least 24 hours before your treatment. Otherwise, the spa will charge you the full amount of the service, and there's nothing worse than paying for something you didn't actually get to experience.
  • Bridal parties and the like — specifically, those that involve 10 or more booked services — are a different story. To cancel, you must call the Tucson spa more than two weeks prior to the scheduled appointments.
The Treatments
  • Of course, you'll find Swedish, deep tissue and signature aromatherapy options on the menu.
  • The prenatal massage is a well-deserved gift for a mother-to-be, and the Revitalizer is a slightly different take on a basic aromatherapy treatment with hot essential oil compresses and a focus on the lymphatic system.
  • The arnica intensive massage is designed for athletes with specific aches and pains. Though fairly common, these treatments are well executed.
  • For something out of the ordinary, try the Desert Mist Hot Stones or the Desert Dew massage — both hydrate the skin, as the sun's rays can be brutal.
  • Skin isn't the only part of your body that falls victim to the harsh desert sun; hair is negatively affected as well. The Desert Rescue Hair And Scalp Massage aims to restore your healthy locks.
