The Conservatorium mixes the music up regularly with a selection of DJs in its Taiko Bar on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights.
Reserve one of the hotel’s four signature suites — the Concerto Suite, I Love Amsterdam Suite, Garden Suite or Penthouse Suite. Besides being the epitome of luxury, these sumptuous accommodations offer spectacular views of the city.
As a Conservatorium guest, you’ll gain complimentary access to Akasha Inspiring Wellbeing, which boasts seven treatment rooms, a 60-foot lap pool, a sauna, a Jacuzzi, an exclusive Watsu pool, a private hammam and a gym.
Milan-based furniture and interior designer Piero Lissoni guided the creation of the stylish hotel. As a result, all communal spaces feature furniture from leading Italian manufacturers such as Living Divani, Kartell and Cassina.

Things to Know

If you plan to visit one of the nearby museums (especially the Rijksmuseum), make sure you buy your ticket in advance to avoid waiting in line for hours.
Not all rooms have a direct view of Amsterdam’s streets — some accommodations look out over the hotel’s atrium. If it’s jaw-dropping city vistas you are after, book one of the signature suites.
To conserve the building’s historical integrity, many of the rooms and suites of the Amsterdam hotel are duplexes. So be sure to keep that in mind when booking if you have difficulties with climbing stairs.

The Rooms

The spacious rooms and suites combine neutral gray tones with occasional bright accents, a style for which interior designer Lissoni is known.
All accommodations feature state-of-the-art in-room technology, free Wi-Fi and a large rain shower. Most rooms also have a bath.
For the best glimpses of the city, book the I Love Amsterdam Suite. This spacious room features a rooftop terrace with a spectacular 360-degree view of Amsterdam.
The 1,830-square-foot Penthouse Suite is lined almost entirely with floor-to-ceiling windows that look out over the atrium and the Rijksmuseum. For ultimate privacy, it has a separate entrance and access to the garage.

In the heart of the Conservatorium, BARBOUNIA is an all-day culinary haven that celebrates the diverse flavors of the Mediterranean, enhanced with aromatic spices from the Levant region.
Beyond BARBOUNIA’s Mediterranean delights, guests can also experience an award-winning omakase menu with a wine or sake pairing at Taiko Cuisine or indulge in elevated Asian-inspired cocktails alongside international classics at Taiko Bar.
Taiko Cuisine is named after a Japanese drum, not only because the eatery serves modern Asian cuisine, but also because it used to be the percussion classroom during the building’s years as a music school.
At the sleek, modern, Tokyo-inspired Taiko Bar, enjoy contemporary Asian bites like sushi and lobster gyoza alongside unusual spins on cocktails, like the Taiko Negroni, featuring housemade coconut gin, lemongrass Campari and plum sake.
