Built in 1889, Hotel Jerome, Auberge Resorts Collection has established
itself as a luxury landmark in the heart of chic Aspen.
The three-story brick structure, built during the height of the state’s silver
boom, was the vision of Jerome B. Wheeler, whose intention was to emulate the
great European hotels of the time.
The property pioneered new levels of
innovation with the only elevator in town, and was one of the first buildings
to have full electric lighting west of the Mississippi. During the 1950s, the
hotel became a popular gathering spot for writers, artists and screen stars,
including Gary Cooper, Lana Turner, Hedy LaMarr and John Wayne.
Today, the historic Hotel Jerome shines brighter than
ever thanks to contemporary-meets-mountain interior design, stellar service and
a slew of ski-season luxuries, namely a few fantastic outdoor Jacuzzis.
