Lluis Domènech i Montaner built Hotel Casa Fuster in 1908. While Domènech may not be as well known as his modernist contemporary Antoni Gaudí, the Catalan architect boasts an impressive pedigree: Several of his works have been named World Heritage Sites by UNESCO.

Things to Know
- Wealthy Majorcan Mariano Fuster commissioned Casa Fuster in 1908 as a gift to his wife. The couple lived there and held grand society receptions in the ornate ground-floor salon (now Café Vienés). In the ’60s, it became the local electrical company headquarters until its current owners bought it, refurbished it and converted it into a jewel.
- Woody Allen plays his saxophone here every time he comes to Barcelona. It is one of his favorite spots.
- The luxury hotel was one of the locations of the Oscar-winning film Vicky Cristina Barcelona directed by Allen.
