The towering hotel (66 rooms, 60 suites and 215 serviced residences) resides in the emerging cultural hub of Mushaireb, is steps away from historic Souq Waqif and has stunning views across Doha’s unique skyline as well as its own garden oasis with more than 130 trees, including its namesake banyan.

With an enviable lineup of five restaurants and lounges that includes traditional Thai, regional Indian and a detour into fine-dining Italian, and a scene-setting rooftop bar, it’s foodie heaven.

Families are also well-catered for with spacious suites and apartment-style residences, not to mention the attached Doha Oasis, which houses a 30-ride indoor theme park, a branch of Planet Hollywood, French department store favorite Printemps and a 19-screen cinema.

The Banyan Tree’s complex is home to theme park Quest, which features the monster EpiQ, the world’s tallest indoor rollercoaster, so you can get your thrills without venturing far.
The Doha hotel’s otherworldy interiors come from acclaimed French designer Jacques Garcia, whose other work includes La Réserve Paris and The Peninsula Paris. Don’t miss the centerpiece, the imposing and multifaceted “Trees of Life,” in the silver-accented lobby.
That said, the accommodations are understated yet warmly plush, all with views of Doha or the hotel’s lush gardens. The smallest room is a spacious 646-square-foot Urban Retreat and the pick of them is the stunning 1,722-square-foot Harmony Club Suite with separate living, dining and sleeping spaces.
Discover an urban refuge at The Banyan Tree Spa. Make time to indulge in the Rainforest Hydrotherapy area, which offers a series of hydrothermal stations designed to harness the healing and revitalizing powers of water, as well as a salt-infused steam room.

The Restaurants

Saffron, Banyan Tree’s signature restaurant Thai restaurant, serves Royal Thai cuisine, prepared with exacting detail and authentic ingredients. The spicy-sour tom yum soup laden with fresh seafood is a must-order.
Rooftop lounge Vertigo lives up to its name. Perched on the luxury hotel’s 28th floor, it is perfect for sundowners and affords incredible panoramas of the coast and beyond through its walls of windows. Be sure to sample the Mediterranean/Asian-fusion menu of bar bites.
Qalamkarri is a standout in a city that offers excellent Indian cuisine. The menu is a tour de force of India’s regional dishes, with standouts being the dreamy seafood curries, Konkan dishes from the country’s underrated West Coast.
Il Galante, the Italian restaurant on the 26th floor, has a menu inspired by the 1794 cookbook Il Cuoco Galante (“The Galant Cook”)by celebrated gastronome Vincenzo Corrado. Star dishes include the minestra de mare (a seafood and pasta soup); gnocchi with earthy gorgonzola; and hearty braised beef cheeks.
