Travel to the Hudson Valley, about two hours from New York City, for a taste of relaxation, nature and a bit of Parisian charm at Mirbeau Inn & Spa Rhinebeck. The name Mirbeau means “reflected beauty,” and for the founders of the brand this means replicating the soothing ambiance of Monet’s French impressionist art. At the Rhinebeck hotel, which debuted in 2019, you will see it in the soft lines of the setting, the welcoming color palette and simple elegance found throughout the property. Step into the marble-lined foyer and embrace the art of truly getting away and into natural beauty.

Aside from the bucolic surroundings, most come to Mirbeau for its spa, a 12,000-square-foot sanctuary with a lengthy menu of treatments, complimentary fitness classes and facilities like the Aqua Terrace (an outdoor area featuring a heated pool with massaging jets, fireplace and bar), a Himalayan salt sauna and a resting room.

When it comes time to retire, the resort paints an inviting scene: each of the 49 accommodations feels like it belongs in a French chateau with its own Juliet balcony and an electric fireplace, perfect for cozy nights in wrapped in a plush bathrobe.

Get ready for a good night’s rest: Each bed at the luxury hotel has a gel-infused memory foam topper, made specifically for the Mirbeau properties, and crisp Frette linens.
Your accommodation’s bathroom will draw you in. Not only are the spaces large, but there's a tiled walk-in shower and oversized clawfoot bathtub that begs for a soak.
Dine on French-inspired fare at Willow by Charlie Palmer, where chef de cuisine Lee Clements leads the kitchen. Dishes include a chef's daily risotto special, stuffed rainbow trout, duck glazed in brandy orange sauce, and baked Brie with local sourdough. The elegant dining room serves three meals each day, as well as a weekend brunch and a midday nosh session complete with fresh oysters from 3 to 5 p.m.
Enjoy the day in the spa. After an Exotic Milk Ritual (a salt scrub followed by a hydrating milky mineral-rich bath) or Monet’s Favorite Fragrance Massage (a Swedish rubdown with aromatherapy), use wonderful amenities like the Himalayan salt sauna, eucalyptus-infused steam room or toasty Jacuzzi outside.
From your room to the Aqua Terrace, there are lots of nooks with roaring fires throughout the property that make you want to sit and take a break. Around the corner from the front desk is an intimate library complete with chess and books — the latter is just what you need for curling up to a fire (you won’t have to go far — there’s even a fireplace in the library).

Nearby Attractions

Sample Hudson Valley wine and take in the view at Millbrook Vineyards & Winery, where you also can picnic on the grounds. Make a reservation to taste its cabernet franc, chardonnay, pinot noir, riesling and tocai friulano.
Take a long but easy stroll down the natural paths of Poets’ Walk, made famous by the writer Washington Irving, who reportedly created the character Rip Van Winkle while meandering around here. The complimentary trail loop is open year-round.
Get a dose of Victorian architecture by visiting Wilderstein, a historic not-for-profit house museum near the Hudson Valley hotel. Tour the building, wander the grounds and check the calendar for special events.
