Pan Pacific London

London's new refined landmark
VERIFIED LUXURY

Spotlighting luxuriant British contemporary design with Asian minimalism, Pan Pacific London offers refined and discreet elegance at One Bishopsgate Plaza, which includes a new 43-story landmark tower combining the hotel and luxury Sky Residences from its parent company, a modern central plaza  and landscaped spaces that make it feel like a haven tucked away from the city’s teeming crowds.

In the heart of London near the swanky Shoreditch area, shopping in Spitalfields and just a two-minute walk from Liverpool Street Station, the hotel features interiors devised by Yabu Pushelberg, the sought-after firm behind hot spots like The Miami Beach EDITION and Four Seasons Hotel Toronto. Its sleek modern design provides an ambiance of tranquility and harmony throughout, buffeted by lush orchids, bonsai trees and Asian tropical plants as well as modern Chinese paintings and other artworks providing the walls with subdued flair.

The 194 rooms and 43 suites range from the serene nearly 400-square-foot Deluxe Room with cream and other neutral tones, curved lines and plaid carpeting, to the majestic 1,280-square-foot Pan Pacific Suite, with a panoramic view of the Gherkin and other famed landmarks and, as with all of the suites, butler service. The staff, like the hotel itself, is meticulous and graceful, but never overly fussy, underlining Pan Pacific London’s overall vibe as both indulgent and like being comfortably at home.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • Rooms and suites have an immediate calming effect, especially after traveling or a day traversing London's streets. The light color; natural materials that include British designs of oak, elm and maple; and large super-soft large custom Hypnos beds should be enough to quiet your inner insomniac, but just in case, the accommodations come with a sleep program that includes ChiliSleep cool mattress pads and sauna blankets sure to tamp down any remaining restlessness.
  • The luxury hotel’s Straits Kitchen, helmed by widely esteemed executive chef Lorraine Sinclair, takes you on a mouthwatering tour of Singapore’s varied cuisines. Sourced from foods grown locally in the U.K., Straits Kitchen provides delicacies and Singaporean classics, including tasty spiced duck breast with crispy noodles and wok-fried soft-shell chili crab. The best bet for those proving indecisive is the tasting menu. Make that non-decision even better by pairing your courses with any of the more than 500 wines available.
  • The Orchid Lounge has quickly become a guest favorite. The work of executive pastry chef Cherish Finden — on British TV, she’s known as a discerning judge on Bake Off: The Professionals and has been a celebrated baker for years — the lounge is a classic English living room space, perfect for an afternoon tea. That ritual is a notable affair here, with seasonally curated explorations of flavorful bao, choux and dim sum.
  • Ginger Lily is a suave rum and cocktail haven headed by Francesco Putignano. Sit along the black marble bar to sip from a wide selection of spirits (there are more than 150 rums on offer), and the all-Italian staff is helpful in choosing your pick-me-up, like its tipples infused with Singaporean flavors such as the Green Mountain, a generous cocktail served with Belvedere vodka, ginger, mint and wasabi.
  • A dedicated wellbeing floor includes saunas, steam rooms, a lounge for guests with a menu created by an in-house nutritionist and three treatment rooms delivering a range of Asian techniques for relaxation, blood flow, wellness and post-travel rejuvenation. It also boasts an 18.5-meter infinity pool overlooking the plaza.

Things to Know

  • For those needing to get physical, there’s a yoga mat in the suites' closet and access to on-demand exercise sessions (and other favorite streaming services) on the television.
  • The gym has all the latest cardio and strength equipment and trainers on hand to keep you from falling off your exercise routine. The TecnoBody D-Wall is exclusive to the London hotel and is a body recognition and gesture-based training system that utilizes real-time feedback for a more targeted workout.
  • The bathrooms are outfitted in stylish monochrome mosaic tiles, walk-in showers, heated floors and amenities by Diptyque in its Philosykos fragrance.
