Grace Hotel Santorini

Kiss the clouds at this cliffside retreat
VERIFIED LUXURY

The whitewashed walls of Grace Hotel Santorini's layered retreat gives the sense that they hold a whole village rather than a luxurious property. In a way, both realities prove true. Everything you need can be found right there, from the food to the spa to the secluded rooms complete with voluminous balconies — most with heated plunge pools.

Legend has it Santorini was formed by the gods, and from the views you can soak up at this unique property, it's easy to see how the rumor got started. Everywhere you go at the 23-room boutique hotel, from the infinity pool to the private terraces to the restaurant Varoulko Santorini, there is beauty as far as the eye can see.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • Indoor and outdoor spaces blend together, just as the sky and sea meld in the distance. Balcony doors open into the bedroom and/or living room. Letting the natural light illuminate the ivory-colored walls and linens. Many of the suites, rooms and villas also come with a heated plunge pool on the terrace, further giving the nature-meets-modern-life feeling.
  • Some hotels have a signature scent, but here you can choose how your room smells. Each space comes equipped with a room diffuser and a menu of fragrance options.
  • At Varoulko Santorini, heralded chef Lefteris Lazarou whips up a spread of fresh, locally sourced Greek delights. Try the squid with pesto Genovese, as well as the crayfish tartare with basil and yuzu and sea bass with fennel risotto. The best part: while you dine, take in the stunning caldera vistas.
  • Dip into the infinity pool — the largest in Imerovigli village — for a relaxing splash and the amazing view of the sun setting over the Aegean Sea while you swim. The space comes complete with lounge chairs, fluffy towels and café service.
  • Step into the luxury hotel room's marble-lined bathroom and enjoy the soft sensation of a rain shower head in a stall big enough for two. Each bathroom is stocked with Apivita luxury products, and in-room spa treatments can be added on as well.

Nearby Attractions

  • The intimate beaches of Santorini are famous for having red and black volcanic pebbles and a unique natural beauty. While the luxury hotel is in the clouds, it's not far to get to the sea below.
  • Visit the ancient ruins of Akrotiri. At this spot see one of the Bronze Age's most sophisticated settlements, which, like the Italy’s Pompeii, was well preserved after a volcano erupted and covered the area.
  • Book a sailboat and either glide yourself around the crystalline waters that surround the island, or have someone else tour your party as you relax on the sea.
  • Head to the charming town of Santorini for food, a drink, a tour of the architecture and churches and to feel the joy an ancient seaside village has to offer.
