Our Inspector's Highlights

  • Anantara Angkor Resort’s suites will make you feel like Khmer royalty, thanks to the lavish interior design — picture gorgeous silk textiles, rattan woodwork, rich red and gold accents, and teak floors that gleam in the sun.
  • After exploring the temples all morning, there’s nothing more relaxing than an afternoon swim in the hotel’s saltwater swimming pool. As the centerpiece of the resort, the pool takes its inspiration from Srah Srang, a man-made reservoir inside Angkor Archaeological Park that was built as a bathing spot for ancient kings.
  • The hotel’s Experience Butlers are dedicated to ensuring you see the best of Angkor Wat and Siem Reap. They’re brimming with ideas for private excursions, from a morning bike excursion through the temple grounds to a helicopter ride over Angkor Wat, countryside tours, cooking classes and Khmer-style massages.
  • Mark a special occasion with a private Dining by Design experience, where a personal chef will design a menu for you to enjoy in the courtyard, on your suite’s terrace or by the West Bay reservoir.
  • Don’t miss a chance to unwind at the Anantara Spa. Inspired by Khmer architecture, the heavenly atmosphere is created with raw stone, carved wood and lotus ponds.

Things to Know

  • After a long flight, you’ll be relieved by the fast and smooth arrival experience. Not only is the resort less than 10 minutes from Siem Reap International Airport, but airport transfers are included in your stay.
  • To explore Siem Reap like a local, book a walking tour with one of the hotel’s Streetwise Gurus. You’ll get to sample the best bites at the Old Market and shop for precious souvenirs — all made by local artisans or designers.
  • An ideal balance of ancient architectural elements and modern comforts, every suite includes a complimentary smartphone with local data to use during the stay, a Nespresso machine and a complimentary minibar.
  • Foodie families will want to take advantage of Anantara’s cooking school, Spice Spoons, where you can learn to make traditional Khmer dishes with a local chef.
  • If you’re looking for a wellness getaway for a nutritional detox, ask about the Reshape 7 Days program, which includes a personal trainer, custom meal plan and healing spa treatments. A shorter experience, the Mindfulness 4 Hours can also help to calm the mind and improve your focus.

The Rooms

  • Ranging from 495 to more than 2,500 square feet, the suites feel lavish yet rustic with earthy colors, local textiles and exquisitely carved wooden shutters and furniture. In addition, private terraces ensure you can savor your morning coffee in the fresh air.
  • The locale is beautifully captured in the hotel’s interior design of the suites, from clawfoot tubs and Khmer ceramic teaware to photography books and stone accents.
  • Amongst the largest accommodations on the property, the Family Pool Suite is the perfect choice for multigenerational travelers. The gorgeous villa can sleep up to five people across its two ensuite bedrooms. There’s also a private pool, a garden courtyard, an in-room spa treatment room and a dedicated dining room where you can enjoy meals together.
  • Another lavish option is the Sothea Suite, where a dramatic four-poster wooden bed, Jacuzzi and in-suite massage room creates a romantic escape.
  • All of the entry-level suites are set around the courtyard pool. For added privacy, the Terrace Suites include a ground-floor terrace and plunge pool enclosed by tropical greenery.
The Restaurants

  • Your day begins at Chi, the resort’s signature restaurant, where you can dig into a vast buffet of pastries, international breakfast items and modern Khmer flavors, all prepared in theatrical open kitchens. Open all day, Chi is also a treat for lunch. And at dinner, you can sample modern Khmer and pan-Asian cuisine, alongside traditional Apsara performances.
  • L Lounge is focused on casual, laid-back dining with excellent Asian tapas, cheese and charcuterie boards. There’s also a decadent champagne high tea come afternoon, should you need a pick-me-up.
  • Right by the pool, Salt serves up chilled drinks, local juices and light bites to ensure you feel refreshed all day long.
