The Tampa EDITION

Tampa’s new hot spot
VERIFIED LUXURY

A new hot spot arrived in Tampa with the opening of The Tampa EDITION, a welcome addition to the Gulf Coast city. The new-build luxury hotel debuted in October 2022 in Water Street Tampa, the world’s first WELL-certified community that embraces wellbeing and sustainability. The $3.5 billion, 56-acre urban development project is a game changer for the city — it doubles downtown’s footprint with offices, shops, cultural attractions, entertainment venues, residences and restaurants near the waterfront.

The fifth U.S. property from EDITION Hotels effortlessly offers personal, intimate experiences in a sophisticated setting. The 26-story building houses 172 guest rooms and suites, 38 exclusive residences, restaurants overseen by a well-regarded chef and nearly 6,000 flexible square feet of meeting space. There’s also an expansive rooftop terrace and pool deck, the first of its kind in the city. Though if you want to sample some of that wellness the neighborhood is known for, make an appointment at the full-service spa, which features ocean-inspired treatments, Biologique Recherche facials and the luxury hotel brand’s signature black tea scent by Le Labo.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • Vegetable champion John Fraser — the chef who oversees dining at The West Hollywood EDITION and The Times Square EDITION and restaurants such as North Fork Table & Inn in Long Island and Iris in NYC — curates the menus of The Tampa EDITION’s four restaurants.
  • The verdant, plant-filled lobby with soaring 20-foot ceilings, top-to-bottom windows and a dramatic sculptural white spiral staircase immediately embraces you into the warmth and sophistication of the elegant hotel.
  • The menu in Punch Room, the luxury hotel brand’s first cocktail bar of its kind in North America, features 10 specialty punches inspired by Tampa’s history, served in an intimate, comfortable setting with wood-paneled walls and rich jewel-toned seating.
  • Floor-to-ceiling windows in each of EDITION’s understated yet stylish guest rooms and suites invite the Florida sunshine in and overlook the city or the Garrison Channel.
  • At fine-dining restaurant Lilac, Amy Racine, acclaimed beverage director of Fraser’s JF Restaurants, created a champagne cocktail cart. It rolls around with a mixologist who prepares cocktails tableside and serves them in flutes.

The Restaurants

  • Lilac, The Tampa EDITION’s modern Mediterranean restaurant, celebrates chef Fraser’s Greek heritage, with a nod to Turkish cuisine. Lilac’s vegetable-forward dinner menu highlights seasonal, fresh and locally sourced ingredients.
  • Azure at EDITION, the hotel’s rooftop dining spot, serves Fraser’s take on Greek fare and sweeping views of the city for lunch and dinner.
  • Pop into Market at EDITION morning, noon, or night — or all three — for French pastries and a steaming cup of coffee, Italian dishes like Neapolitan-style pizzas and cocktails like Negronis and spritzes that will wet your whistle.
  • The Tampa hotel’s Pool Bar serves elevated Mediterranean-influenced fare like tomato fritters for lunch and dinner.
