Named for the storied Fort Lauderdale socialite and patron Evelyn Fortune Bartlett, Evelyn’s Fort Lauderdale offers an eclectic mix of old-school elegance and bold international flavor. Opened in 2022 in Four Seasons Hotel and Residences Fort Lauderdale, the dining venue is already a hard-to-come-by reservation attracting as many locals as vacationers with its modern Mediterranean menu.
The brainchild of chef Brandon Salomon, Evelyn’s fare is playful and imaginative while still paying respectful homage to its eastern Mediterranean roots — think classic baba ghanoush garnished with edible flowers, as if picked from Bartlett’s own beloved garden (she owned The Bonnet House, a nearby local landmark known for its historical significance and gardens). And of course, all plates are served with a side of ocean views through floor-to-ceiling windows.
A swanky polished wood-topped bar completes the scene, shaking up enticing cocktails spiced with za’atar or finished with a twist of rangpur lime, another nod to the restaurant’s namesake (Bartlett’s signature drink was the rangpur daiquiri, and the bar serves a modern version of her recipe).
