Hakkasan Las Vegas

Chic Cantonese cuisine in Las Vegas
For an over-the-top and authentic Cantonese dining experience, book a table at Hakkasan Las Vegas. Part of the worldwide Hakkasan empire (with locations spanning from Mumbai to Miami), the Vegas outpost opened inside of MGM Grand Hotel & Casino in 2013, occupying the first and second floors of a Gilles and Boissier-designed space.

But this isn’t simply a place to dine. This dimly lit five-story establishment also houses the brand’s only nightclub in the world. After savoring a meal created by international executive chef Ho Chee Boon, get escorted upstairs to the club (which adds on another 60,000 square feet to the 20,000-square-foot restaurant) to dance all night to beats by world-renowned DJs such as Steve Aoki and Calvin Harris.
Our Inspector's Highlights
  • Service is key when dining at the restaurant. When you leave your table to use the restroom, expect your napkin to be refolded and placed on your seat upon your return.
  • If you have questions about any of the collection of 1,000-plus wines, lead sommelier Jorden Cruz can assist.
  • This is a see-and-be-seen spot—actor Will Smith, singer Kelly Rowland, actress Amy Adams and Breaking Bad’s Aaron Paul have dined here. Even Harris has his own table — located near the kitchen — at this hot spot.
  • You’ll be blown away by the chic decor — look to the left and to the right for latticework, woodwork and a Chinoiserie-inspired theme.
  • We love the attention to detail, too. Every two days, a fresh orchid is placed on each table in the restaurant and the staff makes its own ice cubes with “HK” stamped in each block.
Things to Know
  • Since this is Las Vegas, folks come dressed to impress. This is one of those see-and-be-seen destinations where donning a little black dress and heels is most certainly the way to go.
  • Be sure to reserve a table at Hakkasan while in Las Vegas. The Cantonese eatery serves dinner seven days a week and can get very busy, especially on weekends.
  • On Tuesdays, beverage manager Constantin Alexander and his team test each wine with every dish on the menu to offer you the perfect libation to pair with spicy and sweet plates.
The Food
  • Must-have dishes like the crispy duck salad with pomelo, pomegranate and pine nut or the roasted Chilean seabass with Chinese honey are great for sharing.
  • Come to the Chinese restaurant with a big appetite. If you’re in the mood for meat, try the restaurant’s Mongolian-style beef tenderloin, or if you want poultry, the Peking duck with Tsar Nicoulai Reserve caviar is a noteworthy option.
  • As a second course, you receive stir-fry with either black bean or XO sauce.
  • Save room for dessert because pastry chef Diana Dimitrova makes everything in house. Standout sweets include the banana pearl pudding (green tea matcha chiffon, caramelized pecans and smoked caramel ice cream) and the black sesame and chocolate dumplings with ginger and yuzu tea.
