The Spa at Four Seasons Hotel Austin

A nature-inspired spa oasis
VERIFIED LUXURY
Nature seeps into The Spa at Four Seasons Hotel Austin, from the impressive new Himalayan salt wall in the relaxation room, to the art dotting the walls, to the lavender, arnica and sage used in the healing Turquoise Sage Arnica Deep Tissue Massage.

There are few places in Austin where a workout comes with a picturesque view of lush Lady Bird Lake, but the fitness center at the 4,000-square-foot spa is one of them.

The state-of-the-art gym just tripled in size thanks to a recent redesign of the hotel’s Forbes Travel Guide Four-Star spa. The expansion is the first part of a massive renovation that will be completed in the fall of 2017.

Our Inspector's Highlights
  • Spa treatments come with access to the 1,750-square-foot fitness center, which features natural elements, like a wall-length wooden oak tree mural, and floor-to-ceiling glass doors that face the lush lake and open to let in fresh air.
  • After your treatment, leave time to enjoy the relaxation lounge’s pink Himalayan salt wall, which supposedly offsets positive ions blamed for stress, insomnia and allergies.
  • Be sure to visit the eucalyptus steam rooms to maximize your spa day.
  • End your workout or spa session by unwinding at the saltwater pool (which can heated in cooler months), where a refreshing menu is available for lunch and cocktails.
  • The relaxation lounge features luxurious touches like herbal scented towels, iced fruit water, dried fruit and nuts and the hotel’s well-loved housemade spa energy bars.
Things to Know
  • Plan to be on the cardio equipment in the fitness center around dusk during the warmer months (March through November) and you might see Austin’s famous bats emerge from beneath the Congress Avenue Bridge.
  • The hotel’s therapists and aestheticians use top-of-the-line products from internationally known brands like Sjal Skincare, La Natura, EmerginC and locally based Hummingbird Farms.
The Treatments
  • The spa’s treatment menu changes seasonally, but includes signatures like the Violet Crown Tranquility Massage, a relaxing violet leaf and sandalwood rubdown inspired by Austin’s unique “violet crown” sunsets.
  • Mothers-to-be will relish in the maternity massage, designed especially for those in the second and third trimesters.
  • Book a Chakra Balancing Facial, which uses the healing power of crystals and micronized gemstones (like sapphires, rubies, diamonds and pearls) to promote energy flow and improve the skin’s hydration and luminosity.
  • Treatments may be customized with enhancements like the Nuface 24K gold eye lift, a targeted microcurrent treatment that aims to brighten and firm the skin.
The Facilities
  • The luxury spa is inspired by the city itself, an urban hot spot with an undeniable connection to nature, a theme carried through in the artwork found throughout the facilities.
  • The three treatment rooms exude peaceful simplicity, with wood cabinets contrasting against textured white wallpaper and white pillar candles glowing next to potted succulents.
  • The relaxation lounge features water-inspired carpeting, garden-facing windows and leather chaise lounges separated by curtains and draped with plush throws.
