ESPA at Mondrian Doha

Doha's secret garden hideaway
VERIFIED LUXURY

With a spa menu that is fit for an Arabian princess or prince, ESPA at Mondrian Doha offers a cool and calm sanctuary from the sometimes-searing desert heat. But, like Mondrian Doha hotel, expect some surprises.

The first ESPA in the Middle East — and its largest in the world — the spa is spread across nearly 22,000 square feet and comes with 11 spacious treatment rooms and the only traditional Turkish hammam in Doha.

The services, while inspired by ESPA’s ethos of harnessing technology to bring out the best in their natural ingredients, also include a nod to Qatar’s Arab heritage. They run the full spectrum from facials using LED lights to full-tilt pampering massages, scrubs using locally grown dates and, of course, manicures and pedicures.

Other facilities include a fully equipped 24-hour gym with unrivalled views of the city and the pool area, with its distinctive checkerboard design and a stained-glass ceiling, is as Instagrammable as it is relaxing.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • The spa is every bit as luxurious and eccentric as the hotel itself, from the resplendent crystal chandelier rain showers to the gold tiles and the heated “garden,” where you can unwind pre- or post-treatment.
  • The VIP suite is a spa-within-a-spa and offers two treatment rooms plus a cozyrelaxation room, steam room, saunaas well as the utmost privacy.
  • Attached to the Doha spa is the hotel’s jaw-dropping 9,000- square-foot Opal Bridal Suite — so ladies don’t have to travel far to get that glow for their wedding day.
  • The spa houses a Margaret Dabbs London beauty salon providing manicures, pedicures and the unusual opportunity to partake in oxygen therapy (inhaling pure oxygen during your service).
  • The hammam is justifiably a centerpiece of the spa with intricate tile work and two treatment areas under a shimmering Swarovski crystal canopy.

Things to Know

  • The pool, while spectacularly located on the hotel’s 27th floor, is not child friendly. It’s more for lounging and being seen rather than playing.
  • In keeping with Qatari customs, there are separate facilities for men (dark-blue-and-gray-tiled interiors) and women (feminine pink-and-white mosaics).
  • Children under 16 are not allowed in the spa area.

The Treatments

  • The Taste of Qatar Spa Suite Indulgence is the highlight of the extensive menu of treatments. It’s a three-hour pampering session with Qatari karak tea and sweet treats all in the confines of the private suite.
  • Short on time? Book one of the 30-minute pick-me-up Rapid Revival treatments, including facials, massages and scrubs.
  • In the 120-minute Four Wonders service, two therapists are armed with hot volcanic stones, essential oils and a mission to restore your balance.
  • There are four hammam rituals lasting between 45 and 120 minutes. Expect to be scrubbed, soaped and massaged into a blissful state in the Turkish bath area.
  • All massages start with a relaxing foot bath, designed to kick off your relaxing journey.

The Facilities

  • Comfortable, spacious spa suites are decorated with intricate handmade Arabic-inspired mosaics.
  • The pool area is an adult’s playground, with a full-service bar and a giant screen (for sports or otherwise).
  • Inside the women’s spa, you'll find a full-sized Finnish sauna made from Scandinavian wood.
  • The men’s side is home to a “fire and ice fountain” that offers hot and cold water to soothe away any jetlag or lingering stress.
