Asaya

Hong Kong’s destination for mind, body and spirit
VERIFIED LUXURY

Occupying two levels of Rosewood Hong Kong— each with striking views of Victoria Harbour — Asaya is a wellness concept like no other. More than just a spa, the urban oasis offers a holistic, comprehensive experience rooted in analysis.

Here, a team of resident practitioners maintains a long list of customized programs and services, including results-driven spa treatments, yoga and meditation classes, movement coaching and bodywork and even arts therapy. To ensure every recommendation is highly personalized, the staff provides an analysis before each experience. Depending on your goals, this could take the form of a genetic test, skin analysis, body composition testing, wellness lifestyle or functional fitness assessments.

The spacious, open setting — a rarity in densely packed Hong Kong — is another highlight. The soothing space features airy interiors with lots of natural light, while stone walkways zigzag between the dedicated bathhouses (for heat and water therapies before or after your treatments), nine treatment rooms, an infinity pool, a relaxation lounge and Asaya Kitchen — the wellness center’s dedicated dining restaurant.

Our Inspector's Highlights

  • Spanning more than 40,000 square feet across the sixth and seventh floors of the hotel, Asaya is one of Hong Kong’s largest wellness destinations and the first urban outpost of this unique concept from Rosewood.
  • Designed by Tony Chi (also behind Rosewood Hong Kong’s interiors), the wellness center features sky gardens and a stunning infinity pool, private terraces, a namesake Asaya Kitchen, and a 2,800-square-foot fitness center.
  • The spa’s sprawling outdoor spaces feel like your own private garden thanks to vertical green walls and water features.
  • Led by wellness gurus, programs are based on five distinct pillars — emotional balance, fitness and nutrition, physical therapies, skin health and community — and every experience is customized to your individual needs.
  • Helmed by executive chef Renaud Marin, Asaya Kitchen makes healthy dining more delicious than ever with Japanese and Mediterranean-style dishes for lunch and dinner.Don’t miss popular plates like tomato tartare, pan-fried sea bream, basil potato gnocchi, mushroom carpaccio and cauliflower cocotte.

Things to Know

  • Arrive an hour before your appointment to enjoy the bathhouse facilities, including vitality pools and heat therapies, and unwind with a cup of house-blended tea in the relaxation room.
  • Seven Urban Sanctuary Suites each have a heated marble bath area with rain showers, a soaking tub and a private garden terrace.
  • In the relaxation zone, don’t skip the complimentary refreshments, including nearly two dozen types of dried nuts, fruits and seeds. The Asaya Kitchen team also brews two types of signature teas — rosemary with thyme, mint and rosebuds; or rosemary with verbena mint, apple blossom and lemon peel — and several fruit-infused waters daily.
  • The outdoor pool faces the east, which means that morning is the best time to catch some rays before the sun slips behind Hong Kong’s towers.

The Treatments

  • Before each treatment, the Asaya team will conduct a personal consultation and body, skin or emotional assessment to help you set personalized intentions and goals. Afterward, you’ll receive a copy of the skin or body analysis so you can refer to your results in the future.
  • Combining traditional and alternative therapies, Asaya’s treatments traverse five main pillars, and you can mix and match to suit your needs.
  • While the emotional balance umbrella includes psychology consultations and expressive arts therapy, the fitness and nutrition category is all about private yoga, coaching and setting new eating habits. Physical therapies are geared toward mobility and draw from centuries-old practices as well as conventional approaches to heal muscles and improve spinal mobilization.
  • Asaya’s more traditional spa offerings (under the skin health pillar) strive for results by using the latest in beauty technology and world-class skincare brands. Try the Tribella by Venus Concept facial, which rejuvenates skin with a trifecta of radio frequency, IPL (intense pulsed light) and skin resurfacing technology; a 24-karat pure gold mask by famed facialist Mimi Luzon as a corrective anti-wrinkle remedy; or a Radio Frequency treatment for lifting and firming.
  • There are several retreats available, including the one-day Greater Awareness introductory program and the one- to three-night Unplug offering that promises to help you to recharge with mindfulness-driven exercises.

The Facilities

  • Home to nine treatment suites and two Asaya Lodges, the extensive retreat features intimate corners throughout, from the spa lounge and treatment rooms to the Roman-inspired bathhouses. Interiors are sun-filled and airy, incorporating light, water and stone to create an urban oasis.Marble, clean lines, white surfaces and plenty of greenery create a sense of understated luxury in harmony with nature.
  • Open 24 hours a day, the state-of-the-art gym stretches across 2,800 square feet with lots of cardio machines, free weights and HIIT equipment, as well as a harbor-front studio for yoga and fitness classes. Personal training is also available.
  • The 25-meter infinity pool is particularly striking, with clear views across the eastern end of Victoria Harbour and a menu of light bites available all day.
  • The peaceful Asaya Lodges on the seventh floor provide all the comforts of an ultra-luxurious overnight stay at Rosewood Hong Kong combined with all-inclusive wellness programs.
  • We won’t blame you if you stop to shop at Asaya Atelier, a beautiful open boutique between the elevators and the spa. Snap up beautifully designed lifestyle products that double as great souvenirs or gifts, like cashmere throws, coffee accessories, blankets, bags and more.
