Including room rate, taxes and mandatory resort fees
What does ""We Paid"" mean?
Forbes Travel Guide performs independent, incognito inspections of all hotels we rate. This is what we paid when we stayed at this hotel.
Rates can vary widely by room type and season. "We Paid" is intended to give a general sense of price, but you might find considerably different rates for your trip.
When we book, we aim for the optimum season for the destination, but we avoid holidays and major public events, when prices are highest. We generally book a room at one category up from the most basic.
We take advantage of promotional rates, when possible. That means the rate you see above might have included other benefits, such as spa or meal credits.
We are the only independent, global rating system for luxury hotels, restaurants, spas and ocean cruise ships.
Here are five things to know about us:
1. We verify luxury. Our highly trained inspectors visit every property we rate, evaluating based on up to 900 objective criteria. Our hotel stays span a minimum of two nights.
2. We pay our own way. No one can buy a rating; all ratings are earned through our objective inspection process.
3. Our global team of inspectors are anonymous at all times, so they have the same experience as a typical guest.
4. While we inspect both service and facility, our Star Rating system emphasizes service because your experience at a hotel, restaurant or spa goes beyond looks — how it makes you feel is what you will remember most.
5. We started in1958 as Mobil Travel Guide, and we created the original Five-Star rating system for hospitality.
Five-Star These properties deliver an outstanding experience and consistently offer a highly customized level of service.
Four-Star These are exceptional properties, offering high levels of service and quality of facility to match.
Recommended These are excellent properties with consistently good service and facilities.
Soon To Be Rated As our highly trained, incognito inspectors work to assess properties, our editors check them out ahead of time and provide a sneak preview of what to expect.

Our Inspector's Highlights
Those who book a service can look forward to a complimentary foot bath meant to stimulate circulation and warm the lower body.
Post-treatment, head to the Serenity Garden or to one of three relaxation lounges, which have views of the city as well as drink services.
In addition to the 24-hour gym, trainers are always on hand, and the private GX, yoga and Pilates studio has some of the best views of the city around. There are aquafit classes and a golf range next door, too.
From the gym there is a direct entrance to the indoor pool. Covered with skylights, it is most beautiful in the early morning at sunrise, or at night when you can swim under the stars.
The Seoul spa has a well-appointed reception room where hosts check you in, fill out consultation cards, ask questions, check massage pressure and provide tea and apples.
Things to Know
The hydrobath is a unique experience. The body lies cocooned within it while dozens of separate nozzles spray water and air, to exfoliate and clean in an unusual way.
Opt to stimulate the lymphatic system and relax muscles with an aromatherapy experience that balances chakras or go for a shiatsu or reflexology massage to release tension and pain.
Every spa therapist is trained at the Conrad’s headquarters in aromatherapy techniques, and holds an aromatherapy license.
The Treatments
Expect a full range of spa treatments, from facials and massages to hydrotherapy and signature rituals — there is a distinctive ancient Eastern flair to services that also use the latest technologies to make them as effective as possible.
There are three intense two-hour signature rituals to consider: Essentially Yours, a facial enhanced with back, hand and scalp treatments; Follow Your Bliss, an intensive body massage; and Stay Inspired, an hour of a body treatment complemented with another hour of facial services.
A series of 60- to 90-minute facials are available, which feature options like a youth recovery treatment with hop tree extract (known for its energizing and skin-firming benefits), and a hydrating facial with katafray, an extract that helps stimulate the skin’s natural hydration.
A moisturizing body treatment employs peach extract for its hydration and nourishing virtues, and the firming body service with lemon thyme maintains skin’s elasticity, restores tone and creates firm, soft, supple skin.
The Facilities
Inside, there are seven individual treatment rooms, one couples room, and a hydrotherapy room. Each room has a large, separate powder room, plus a toilet and shower, so you can enjoy a completely private experience.
On the eighth floor is a state-of-the-art gym, open 24 hours, seven days a week, perfect for jet-lagged travelers.
When you’re finished working out, head to the sauna (for an extra fee). Though not as large as most traditional Korean saunas, it is equipped with a steam room and three different baths of varying temperatures — everything you need to relax that torn muscle tissue.
