Our Inspector's Highlights
  • Like Hotel Georgia itself, Sense spa has an interior design that uses a muted color palette of mauve, cream, light brown and gold, accented with dark wood furniture.
  • Treatment rooms, meanwhile, are simply decorated and mostly unadorned save for unique metal sconce lamps, while dark blinds block out any distracting views.
  • At Sense spa, you’ll be comfortable and well taken care of. A hot cup of herbal vanilla rooibos tea and a chilled facial towel welcome you to the spa and to help transport you into a Zen frame of mind.
  • More refreshments are available in the coed lounge in the form of trail mix, fresh apples and apricots, cucumber- and lemon-infused ice water and White Lion herbal teas.
  • You’ll find shampoo, conditioner and a refreshing herbal body wash in the shower, while a glass console table neatly displays extras like razors, combs, deodorant, hair spray and cotton swabs.
Things to Know
  • The luxury spa's entrance is located on the fourth floor of Vancouver’s legendary quarters. To get there, take the elevator and then follow a corridor past the set of rooms on the fourth floor.
  • The footwear comes from popular spa apparel brand Yeah Baby and is their unisex Cloud 9 Spa Slipper in black. If the shoe size in the locker doesn’t fit, though, don’t worry — the spa has plenty of extras in small, medium and large.
  • If you can’t find something in the locker room that you might need — say, a straightening iron or curler — Simply ask one of the Sense spa attendants and they’ll appear with one in no time.
  • Pressed for time and want to get in both sightseeing and beautifying? Consider the half-day Discover Vancouver package, which includes a walk along Vancouver’s Sea Wall and through gorgeous Stanley Park.
The Treatments
  • Cleanse and firm your body with the Tides treatment, which consists of a scrub and wrap combo. Using salts from the land and sea along with concentrated seaweed extract, your body will be fully exfoliated before being wrapped in regionally harvested algae and British Columbia glacial mud, helping to improve your body’s tone and texture.
  • If you’re looking to lift, tighten and hydrate your skin, the ultimate facial is for you. It includes peels and dermabrasion plus a firming mask and microcurrent lifting so you can look refreshed and maybe a bit younger than when you arrived.
  • Maple syrup makes everything a little bit sweeter and that includes pedicures. With the Canadian Maple Syrup Pedicure, you’ll get a maple sugar scrub, organic hydrating mask and quick foot massage before your toenails are shaped and polished.
  • A shea butter foot massage add-on comes with a bonus of a glass of champagne and chocolates.
  • The Georgian Revival Massage is your basic aromatherapy massage, but it’s done well here. Inhale soothing aromas of lavender or rosemary as your therapist employs Swedish massage movements to leave you with better circulation and feeling utterly pampered.
The Facilities
  • Doubling as the waiting area, the relaxation lounge is located in the center of the spa and features four plush mauveish gray velour wingback arm chairs with ottomans, fabric paneled walls and ornate screens along with dark wooden side tables.
  • The locker rooms are small, but they’re equipped with all the basics you’d need for your spa-going experience, and then some.
  • The intimate space is decorated using a white-and-cream color palette and plenty of marble and painted wood.
  • There’s a pair of white-tiled showers and two toilets, although with only five treatment rooms at the spa, you just may have the locker room all to yourself.
