Located at the crest of the Eastern Continental Divide in North Carolina’s Highlands, the scenery at Old Edwards Inn and Spa’s Old Edwards Club is spectacular, consisting of rolling fairways, elevated greens and lush boundaries. Ponds and streams dot holes Nos. 1, 5 and 6. There have been the occasional fox sightings at No. 3. As for the back nine, the surroundings become even more of a focus as hole No. 10 begins after a dramatic 250-foot ascent. Still, it’s hole No. 18 that takes the breath away, as it’s a 392-yard wonder that provides an incredible view of area landscape while still presenting a challenge to get to a fairway that’s more than 200 feet lower than the tee.
