For a small town, Aspen has a rocking nightlife that often kicks off in the late afternoon, during après-ski festivities poolside at the Sky Hotel bar, 39 Degrees. It’s best to catch a nap before the nighttime party circuit kicks off, typically at Eric’s Bar, where the Billiard Room, the Cigar Bar, and Su Casa all share the same outdoor courtyard, creating a nightlife epicenter. Aspen has a handful of dance clubs that make for a rowdy late-night scene, from the newer Escobar and the Hunter Bar to more established spots such as the Regal. The Belly Up is the only live music venue in town, but don’t underestimate its pull in getting big acts onto its tiny, intimate stage: The likes of Jimmy Buffett and Seal have played there in years past.
Aspen has no shortage of nightlife, from its lively après scene that can extend into the night to its vibrant club scene. The perfect place to start the night is Ajax Tavern, where the patio is ripe for people watching and cocktails. You can also start your evening at Little Nell’s Living Room, where you can sip a cocktail by the fireplace or consult with the master sommelier on a great bottle of wine. Late-night favorites in town are the new Escobar for drinks and dancing (which is designed to look like the inside of an airplane), the Belly Up (for late-night music acts) and New York Pizza (for that midnight slice).
