Woodlands Grill does not offer special gifts from the chef, but the portions are large enough that you can expect to bring much of your meal back to your cottage at the Barnsley Resort each evening, and you won’t find yourself with room to spare for extra tidbits. However, it’s likely that your server will surprise you with a decoration or larger portion for your dessert if you’re celebrating a special event. Each table receives a heaping breadbasket of warm French rolls and butter. Look closely: The butter is shaped into tiny golf balls to highlight the casual, country-club theme of the dining room, which overlooks the Forbes Travel Guide recommended hotel’s golf course.
While it’s not a frequent practice, chef Charles Vosburgh will occasionally recognize special guests or celebrations with a gift from the Woodlands Grill kitchen.
