Our Forbes Travel Guide editors report that Tenerife has the best nightlife of the Canary Islands, and that Gran Canaria is particularly well-known for its variety of gay-friendly bars and clubs. Faro Chill Art, a stylish club in Puerto Colon with a rooftop terrace, is a recommended nightlife venue in Tenerife, while over in Puerto de la Cruz, La Compostelana and Bar La Canela are great spots to catch live music. Playa de las Americas, which is packed with bars, restaurants and nightclubs, has a well-earned reputation as the epicenter of the island’s party scene.
All of the islands have their fair share of after-dark options, however. For example, a few subdued spots to ring in the evening with a refreshing mojito in Lanzarote’s Playa Blanca are La Marea and El Café del Mar. On Fuerteventura, Rock Island Bar in Corralejo features the island’s longest-running live music scene, while in La Gomera, one of the quieter Canarian islands, the port of San Sebastian is the place to head for a relaxing evening of dinner and cocktails.
