Brunch on Cape Cod ranges from ultra-casual to extremely formal. There are endless bakeries and coffee shops in every town on the Cape where you can get bagels and pastries to go. Or, choose a more formal approach to breakfast at one of the spots:

1. Old Jailhouse Tavern, Orleans. The restaurant is actually an old jailhouse that offers a full lunch, dinner and Sunday brunch menu. The atmosphere at Old Jailhouse Tavern is casual and the menu is simple: eggs omelets, pancakes, hashbrowns, and sandwiches are the brunch items of choice.

2. Cape Cod Railroad. The Cape Cod Railroad’s Sunday Brunch Train is a favorite for kids. The two-hour train ride includes a full brunch in one of the vintage dining cars. Reservations are recommended and the brunch train is only open from May to October.

3. The Coonamessett Inn, Falmouth. A classic Sunday brunch is served at this inn every Sunday. The all-you-can-eat buffet is $23 per person and $12 for kids, and includes a pastry station, egg station, salads chefs carving station, fresh fish, vegetable table and of course, a full dessert table.

4. Daniel Webster Inn, Sandwich. The Daniel Webster Inn’s Sunday brunch is a feast for the eyes and stomach. The tables include salads, cheeses, pastries, Belgian waffles hot entrees, desserts, an omelet bar and a carving station.

5. Black Cat Tavern, Hyannis. The casual waterfront restaurant is located right on the docks of the Hyannis harbor, so you can have brunch and then hop a boat to Martha’s Vineyard or Nantucket. The menu includes everything from omelets to burgers, and the restaurant even has free parking, a rarity on the Cape.
