The Willcox is open year-round, but spring and fall are its peak seasons, when guests from around the world descend on the city of Aiken for horses, golf and music. Aiken is home to its own Triple Crown of sorts every spring: the Aiken Trials, Steeplechase and Polo and Pacers. Just down the road, Augusta, Georgia, welcomes the Masters Tournament, one of golf’s most elite events, every April. In March, Aiken also hosts the annual Juilliard in Aiken, a weeklong program of music and performance with stars from the famed New York City art school.
During the winter months, foxhunting is the sport of choice. Additionally, The Willcox also presents an exhibit of fine sporting art from Lexington, Kentucky’s Cross Gate Gallery, known as one of the premier sporting art galleries in the world.
Special packages are offered during the summer months, The Willcox’s low season. Throughout the year, the luxury hotel also has signature monthly events, ranging from tastings of small-batch bourbons paired with food and dancing to book signings and spa events. Throughout the week, live piano and jazz in the hotel lobby also delights guests.
