The bar at Play is small but integral to the design of The Broadmoor’s luxe restaurant-meets-entertainment-den. The first feature you see when you walk in, it spans the area between Play’s six bowling lanes and its dining room. A line of comfortable, high-backed, red leather bar stools faces a wall of colorful liquors — a number of which, such as Leopold Bros. whiskey, are locally crafted — and two flat-screen TVs tuned to sports channels. The dark-wood bar and ceiling moldings complement the masculine design of the entire space. Play’s bartenders mix a wide array of cocktails, spiked shakes and mocktails (Play is nothing if not family-friendly), all of which can be ordered at the bar, from a bowling lane or within the Colorado Springs restaurant. Even if you’re not bowling or eating in the dining room here, the bar at Play is a cozy spot for a pre-dinner drink.
