What’s the best time of year in Denver?

Probably fall. It’s funny, 2013 was the first year since I’ve been here that I spent the month of July in Denver. I usually go back to New Jersey to the beach, but because of [Hurricane] Sandy, there wasn’t a lot going on at the beach. I’m from Mantoloking, New Jersey (Bay Head-Point Pleasant area) and it was devastated. We usually leave like June 29 and come back August 3. That’s why I have a great job — I can just take off for the entire month. But we were in Denver this summer and July was not that bad, as it had been in the past; but August was brutally hot.

I think I like going from the really hot 95 degree days to then going to where it’s sunny, beautiful and 72 degrees during the day and at night drops into the 50s, which is a great thing because I don’t have air conditioning in my house. Plus, I love cooking fall and winter food because it’s rustic. That’s another reason I really love fall because of the type of food you can do — not that I don’t love all the produce we get from our farmer, but he’ll still have other stuff for us in the fall.
