Which Las Vegas Food & Wine All-Star Weekend events can I attend?

One of the most anticipated events of the 2012 Las Vegas Food & Wine All-Star Weekend is the all-star lunch on Saturday, October 6. World-renowned chefs Shawn McClain, Masa Takayama, Jean-Georges Vongerichten, Michael Mina and Julian Serrano will come together to cook one amazing midday meal at the Four-Star restaurant Sage in ARIA Resort & Casino, and World Pastry Champion Jean-Philippe Maury will serve his mouth-watering desserts.

Other events include a Gail Simmons–hosted afternoon tea on Friday, October 5, at Five-Star restaurant Joël Robuchon, plus a same-day “Master Sommeliers Who Make Wine” seminar and tasting at Bellagio. Then catch a tequila tasting happy hour at Diego at MGM Grand Friday evening, followed by a dessert-filled “Sweet Strip Viewing” at Mandalay Bay’s miX Lounge.

Besides the all-star lunch, Saturday’s events include a seasonal pasta demonstration at Aureole at Mandalay Bay; a “Four Farms, Three Chefs, Two Brothers, One Table” presentation at Bellagio; and a cooking demo and lunch at L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon. Also on Saturday afternoon, ARIA hosts a champagne-and-sashimi event with Gail Simmons and Chef Masa at BARMASA. For dinner, head to Tom Colicchio’s Craftsteak at MGM Grand for a Ghost Horse Wine–paired meal or to Mandalay Bay for a surfside soiree with Gail Simmons, Susan Feniger, Mary Sue Milliken, Hubert Keller, Michael Mina, Rick Moonen and Vincent Pouessel.

The weekend’s last course: a Sunday brunch of dim sum and champagne at Bellagio.

Prices per person range from $64 for the tequila tasting to $352 for the Craftsteak wine dinner. While some of the events are pricey, the All-Star Weekend’s list of culinary experiences is one of the best a la carte menus we’ve seen.
