What is the design style of The Westin Book Cadillac Detroit?

When first constructed by Detroit's Book brothers in the early 1920s, The Book Cadillac was designed in the Neo-Renaissance style. Today, the 33-story Westin Book Cadillac Detroit maintains its original steel skeleton and brick and limestone façade; a $200 million gutting and renovation in 2006 restored the grand ballroom and other notable spaces to their original design and grandeur. Sculptures of historical Detroit figures including Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac, founder of the city, line the hotel’s exterior cornice. Inside, modern interiors and sleek lines still nod to the hotel’s past with showstoppers like a marble grand staircase, sparkling Italian Murano crystal chandeliers and custom carpets.
